The Steinbach Curling Club had an impressive showing at the bonspiel in Carman this past weekend, marking the official start to the bonspiel season for two local teams.
The U13 girls' team, coming off a strong finish in last year's circuit, lived up to expectations with a perfect 3-0 record in the round robin.
They continued their dominant play in the gold medal game, securing a 5-1 victory to claim first place.
Meanwhile, the U18 boys team also had an outstanding weekend in a highly competitive draw.
Finishing the round robin with a solid 4-1 record, they advanced to the finals.
Despite a close and hard-fought match, the boys came up just short, losing by a single point in the final rock.
Their efforts earned them a well-deserved silver medal, capping off a fantastic weekend for both teams.
