There are only a few more days left to get your smile cookies and help support the Airdrie Food Bank.
The cookies started being sold in stores on November 18th and can be purchased until the 24th, the Tim Hortons holiday smile cookie campaign is supporting Airdronians.
The Smile Cookie campaign is designed to give back to communities, and different organizations are chosen to receive 50 per cent of the proceeds. This season the money raised will go to the Airdrie Food Bank, while the other 50 per cent will go to Tim Horton’s Foundation Camps.
When speaking with DiscoverAirdrie Christine Taylor, Marketing Communication Manager said that so far she's excited by the community support and involvement.
"We've had so much fun. We've had all kinds of different volunteers wanting to help."
Some of the volunteers that signed up to show off their decorating skills include the AIR106.1 team, Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown, Councillor Tina Petrow and multiple staff from the food bank.
All of Airdrie's Tim Hortons, the one on the QEII north of the city by Crossfiled and the one in CrossIron are selling the cookies with the proceeds in support of the Airdrie Food Bank.
You can stop in, and drive through any of these locations to purchase your Smile Cookies. An added bonus this season is you also have the option to pre-order yours, which can be done HERE.
Taylor is thankful for everybody who has supported to campaign so far, as donations are in great need for the holiday season.
"When we have a call to action, Airdrie always comes through for us. So we're just very excited to be a part of the campaign, we are so thankful for all the Tim Hortons locations. They've been welcoming and having so much fun with us."
Last year, the Airdrie Food Bank received a total of $16,797.58. Taylor hopes that number will grow this year.
Currently, the Airdrie Food Bank is serving over 700 families per week, which is expected to grow with the holiday season nearing.
