Mary Lamirande (nee Lavallee)

1934 - 2024

Mary passed away peacefully November 17, 2024, with loved ones by her side.

Born December 30, 1934 to Frank and Margaret Lavallee, Mary was the oldest of their 6 children. Mary was a supportive and loving big sister to all of her siblings, even after meeting and marrying her beloved Emile.

Mary (along with her husband Emile) worked at Naegele Mallard Lodge for 35 years. As Head Cook, Mary was known for her delicious meals and her welcoming personality. Not only was Mary a devoted staff member, she was also a friend to her employers, their guests, and her co-workers; although Mary retired to care for her husband, and later her mother, these friendships continued for all of Mary’s life.

In addition to her family and her work, Mary’s other passions included shopping, baking, home decor and sneaking nibbles of dark chocolate from her secret stash. Mary took great pride in creating a home that was warm and welcoming. She loved company and always wanted to ensure her guests were comfortable and well fed, often with one of her delicious specialties, which included her fish fry, coconut cream pie and her scrumptious chocolate chip cookies.

Predeceased by her husband Emile Lamirande, her parents Frank and Margaret Lavallee, sisters Christine and Leatrice, brother Larry, and parents in law, Xavier and Rose Lamirande.

Mary leaves to mourn her passing her sisters Dorothy Miller, and Joyce Ramey (Tom), sister-in-law Ida Lamirande, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary will be forever remembered as a loving big sister, devoted wife, dear friend, and beloved Aunty Meme.
