The Alberta government announced new changes to its auto insurance system that will take place over the next two years.
Strathmore drivers may be able to cash in on savings as the plan is called the Care-First system and a new website has been launched to help residents navigate the changes and benefits.
According to the province, the program will help with better medical and faster income support benefits.
The benefits will last through the recovery period when Albertans are injured in collisions.
Staff with the provincial government say there will also be savings of up to $400 per year.
"Legislation to implement the changes will be introduced in the spring of 2025. If passed, industry partners would take the next two years to implement the changes, including developing 3.4 million new auto insurance policies," wrote the province.
The plan is to introduce the system by early 2027.
