Weyburn's contribution of 470 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child were loaded up onto a truck on Sunday from the Weyburn Free Methodist Church.
Danielle Koeslag, Weyburn Coordinator said last year they were able to load up 480 shoeboxes. "So we're very close."
Drop-off dates began Monday, with the final time slot at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Koeslag said quite a few came in earlier in the week, with 150 boxes coming in Friday from Life Centre Church.
"The majority of them came kind of that Thursday, Friday mark," she noted.
"We had a couple of volunteers that came. We had some volunteers during the day and then we had some in the evening that came to help me and it was lots of fun."
Former coordinator and standing volunteer, Bev Alexander, shared that her favourite part of the drop-off days is when kids come in with their parents to drop off shoeboxes, excitedly saying they got to do the shopping and help with the Samaritan's Purse initiative.
