Last week the Weyburn Police Service responded to a hit and run in a parking lot. Last Friday they saw two more incidents. One occurred behind a local bank around 2 p.m., the other in a Canada Post parking lot between 8:30 and 11 p.m.

Constable Dallas Austin says damage was likely done to all involved vehicles; he stresses the importance of remaining on the scene of these incidents.

“When individuals decide to not report it and or drive away from that, the charges, it's going to be a TSA, failing to remain an accident or unsafe backing, whatever it might be. Every situation is kind of different. But I mean, it's best to be honest.”

“It's best just to come forward with it. You know, you might not get a ticket out of it either. It might just be a simple accident. With the roads being as bad they are sometimes, slippery parking lots and whatnot, we can't control those things. You very well might just, you know, get a little bit of a warning and SGI will take care of the rest.”

This matter is currently under investigation, the Weyburn Police Service asks anyone with information to contact them in person or at (306) 848-3250.

The Weyburn Police Service responded to 79 calls for service from November 18th to 24th. A total of nine charges resulted with one under the Criminal Code of Canada, seven under the Traffic Safety Act, and one under Vehicle Equipment Regulations.
