As the holidays approach, the Estevan Public Library is buzzing with preparations for its most festive season yet. Branch Manager Jason Redshaw shared insights into the exciting events planned for December, highlighting the library’s role as a hub of community connection.

“We wanted to create a space where everyone could come together, celebrate the season, and enjoy something unique,” Redshaw said during an interview about the library’s upcoming events.

Holiday Mini Golf Fundraiser (December 6–8)

Kicking off the month of December is the Holiday Mini Golf fundraiser at the Estevan Public Library. This family-friendly event, running from December 6 to 8, is a great way to enjoy some festive fun while supporting the library. The event is open to all ages, with admission priced at $2 for children and teens, and $5 for adults. All proceeds will go towards purchasing new Maker Kits and materials for future library programming.

Christmas Social (December 12)

On December 12, the library will host its first-ever Christmas Social, an event designed to bring the community together in the spirit of the season. Redshaw shared, “This is something new we’re going to try out. We have live music happening by the Weening Family and The Way. Christmas music’s going to start right at 6:00 PM. As well, we’re going to be doing a toy drop-off for the Angel Tree Project.”

In addition to the music, the Christmas Social will also feature a food collection for the local food bank, as well as crafts, cookies, and hot chocolate.

Adult Lego (December 20)

For those who enjoy a more hands-on experience, the library’s Adult Lego evening offers a fun and creative escape. On December 20 at 6:30 PM, the library invites adults to unwind and tap into their inner builder. Whether you’re a seasoned Lego enthusiast or just looking for a relaxing evening, this event is a great way to spend time with friends or meet new people.

Other December Highlights

Throughout the month, the library is also offering a variety of other events to keep the whole family entertained. From craft nights to language circles, there’s no shortage of festive fun:

  • Christmas Craft Night (December 11): A chance for attendees to get crafty with holiday-themed projects.
  • Family Language Circle (December 13): An interactive session for families to learn and engage in language activities together.
