The CPKC Holiday Train held its annual show in the train yard on Manitoba Street on Saturday afternoon.
The Mother Teresa Middle School Buffalo Boys opened the show, with artists Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish performing for the crowd.
Others on the stage included Moose Jaw Wakamow MLA Megan Patterson, Mayor James Murdock, Terri Smith from the Moose Jaw & District Food Bank, Tim Wonsiak with the Moose Jaw Co-op, and Gabi Belanger with CPKC.
The Moose Jaw & District Food Bank had vans onsite to accept food donations, and on behalf of CPKC, Gabi Belanger presented a cheque to the local food bank in the amount of $13,000.
Tim Wonsiak with the Moose Jaw Co-op also said that the Good Buy to Hunger campaign to support the food bank has exceeded last year’s goal so far and added that they will still be accepting the $10 donations until December 24.
Mayor Murdock addressed the gathered crowd. “This is important for our town, as we’ve always been a rail town, and the presence here is greatly appreciated.”
