This week's Airdrie Techmation Thunder Spotlight belongs to Corey Cameron McGregor the game day manager/trainer.

The Airdrie Techmation Thunder completed a busy three-game stretch on Saturday. They fell 3-2 to the High River Flyers on Thursday, secured a 3-0 win over the Ponoka Stampeders on Friday, and wrapped up with a narrow 4-3 loss to the Coaldale Copperheads on Saturday. The Thunder now hold an 11-9-1 record.

Head Coach and General Manager Mark Kulynych wrote about how the weekend went.

"We had a rough weekend, but the spotlight was our first ever dad’s trip, we all travelled to Coaldale and had half the barn packed. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the outcome we wanted but the players and dads had a blast. It was a special night for the group."

He went on to talk about having Corey as a part of the team.

"she was busy this weekend with some injuries and travel. Playing 3 games in 3 nights is always tough and she didn’t disappoint."

According to Kulynych she was up for whatever task and helped the guys return to the game as quickly as possible.

"Corey is a very positive piece to the team. She has been filling in for our regular trainer and doing a fantastic job. We are happy to have Corey a part of the family."

Cameron McGregor wrote to DiscoverAirdrie that she was not expecting to be selected for this week's spotlight. This is her first year helping out with the team

"It’s been fun! It’s a different experience for sure! I’ve spent a lot of time in the rink watching both of my brothers play hockey and I’m enjoying seeing the other side of things! It’s one thing watching in the stands but being behind the scenes has been pretty neat!

She also hopes the team can make a deep run in the playoffs this year.

"I feel we have a strong team this year. It’s such a great group of guys, and we’ve been doing well so far! I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out!"

She is one of the game day managers for the team but fills in as a trainer when needed.

The Thunder have two games this week, on Friday, the Rocky Rams visit the Ron Ebbesen Arena for an 8 p.m. puck drop. Saturday the Thunder visit the Red Deer Vipers.
