Wheatland County approved the 2025 interim capital and operating budgets during a council meeting on Tuesday (Dec. 17).
Capital spends include:
- Administration: $140,000.
- Public works: $25.6 million.
- Equipment and fleet: $4.6 million.
- Water, sewer, and waste management: $12.8 million.
- ASB general and facilities: $2.08 million.
- Community services: $583,000.
The county's cost contribution agreement came in at $4.2 million, debenture and debt are at $7 million, and provincial grants at $10 million.
There is also $11.8 million for the designated reserve, $700,000 of proceeds from asset sale (equipment), and a $12 million unrestricted surplus.
According to a news release, the Goldfinch Raw Water Line project was recently approved for $9.75 million on Tuesday (Dec. 3).
"This new infrastructure will service the Goldfinch Industrial Area, providing essential water services to facilitate future industrial and commercial growth," mentioned the county.
