The Okotoks Dawgs announced today (Dec. 20) that a trio of Academy players will be on the WCBL squad for the 2025 season.

The Academy graduates who will be on the WCBL roster consist of Benito Bonilla, Brandon Paez, and Chase Logan.

Dawgs fans were introduced to Bonilla last season, as he played in six games and was a force at the plate. In those six games, he posted seven runs, six hits, a double, 10 RBIs, three walks, and crushed four home runs. The first baseman originally hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and stands at 6'4 while weighing in at 230 pounds. After joining the Dawgs Academy, Bonilla attended Foothills Composite High School in Okotoks.

Bonilla is currently with Missouri State playing post-secondary baseball. The video below is of Bonilla winning the 22U Baseball Canada Nationals Homerun Derby last season.

2024 graduate Paez will be making his WCBL Dawgs debut this year after signing with the team. His hometown is Montreal, Quebec, but just like Bonilla, he attended Foothill Comp after joining the Dawgs Academy roster. Paez was a part of the Dawgs Academy team that put up a perfect game during the18U World Series in 2022. The infielder is currently enrolled at the University of Utah where he is continuing his baseball career.

Catcher and 2024 graduate from the Dawgs Academy, Logan is currently playing with Linn-Benton Community College where current Dawgs Infield Coach Andy Peterson currently coaches. This will also mark Logan's first time with the WCBL squad. He stands at 5'10, weighs in at 180 pounds, bats left, and throws with his right.

With the three Academy graduates joining, the WCBL Dawgs roster is climbing as they have 18 players named to the team.
