According to the Alberta RCMP, several locations in the province had poor driving conditions last night.

"South of Calgary, freezing rain was causing extremely poor road conditions. On Highway 2 South of Highway 23, High River RCMP were responding to multiple collisions including jackknifed semi-trucks."

In many areas north of Red Deer, dense fog is significantly reducing visibility, leading to multiple collisions requiring police response.

Motorists are asked to avoid travel and ensure they check Alberta 511 for the most up-to-date highway conditions and plan accordingly.

According to 511, most of the roads in and around Airdrie are bare wet/dry. But still, please be careful and take your time if you have to drive this holiday season.
