Warren Joseph Muyres
April 1, 1962 – January 5, 2025
Warren Joseph Muyres of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at Humboldt District Hospital. He was 62 years of age. Warren was born on April 1, 1962, to David and Anita (née Bornhorst) Muyres, and was raised on the family farm near St. Gregor, SK. He completed his Grade 8 education in St. Gregor before graduating from Muenster School in 1980. Following high school, Warren worked at Michel’s Industries for a few years. Then pursued his entrepreneurial spirit and founded Muyres Windows and Home Improvements, a window installation business he successfully owned and operated for over 30 years. Over the years Warren earned a reputation for quality workmanship and dedication to his customers. While running his company, he also earned his Journeyman Carpentry Red Seal and shared his expertise by teaching at SIAST in Melfort, SK, for a few winters. Warren had a lifelong love for sports, both as a fan and competitor. In 1986, he had the memorable experience of competing in the Labatt Brier Canadian Men’s Curling Championship. Warren played third alongside his three brothers, in Kitchener, Ontario, a proud accomplishment in his life. In 1989, Warren married Patricia Wacholtz, with whom he welcomed his daughter Nicole. Though their paths later parted, he found love again and married Colleen Strome in 1997. Together, along with Warren’s daughter and Colleen’s two sons, Jesse and Andrew they began a new chapter. The couple then welcomed a son, Brett, and completed their family. Warren carried a deep-seated, quiet faith that guided him throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Warren was proud of every one of them, each holding a special place in his heart. His warm and caring nature, along with his dry sense of humor, will never be forgotten. Warren will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Colleen of Humboldt; children: Nicole Muyres of Saskatoon, Brett Muyres of Regina, and stepson Jesse (Cristina) Poncelet, of Saskatoon; two grandchildren: Iszabella and Kristopher; father David Muyres of Humboldt; brothers: Lyle (Janet) Muyres of Humboldt, and Garth Muyres of Humboldt; and sister Andrea Muyres of Humboldt. He was predeceased by his stepson Andrew Poncelet; mother Anita (née Bornhorst) Muyres; and brother Craig Muyres. The Funeral Service was held at Humboldt Bible Church, Humboldt, SK, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Sean Brandow.
