Libraries are often associated with books and quiet study spaces, but the Estevan Public Library is redefining expectations with a lineup of unique activities this January. Branch Manager Jason Redshaw joined the SUN 102 Morning Show to share how the library is offering more than just a place to read. From yoga and music to hairstyling tips and board games with nachos, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Here’s what’s coming up this month:
-
Yoga at the Library – January 11 at 10:30 AM
“You do have to register in advance, and it can fill up fairly quick, so please give the library a call and make sure we can get you registered,” said Redshaw. -
Jam Session – January 14 at 7:00 PM
“It’s not so much an open mic, but it’s just kind of a thing where musicians can get together, play together, and share and learn some new ideas,” said Redshaw, who plans to bring his guitar to join in. -
Hairstyle Basics for Moms and Dads – January 23 at 6:30 PM
“We have a local hairstylist, Brenna Sellsted, teaching how to do some basic hairstyles for the kids. She did my hair a couple of times already, so I can say from personal experience, she’s actually really good,” he added with a laugh. -
Board Games and Nachos – January 29 at 6:00 PM
“We’re going to have some board games set up and will be making nachos. You’ll definitely want to come over for that one,” said Redshaw.
