Rosemarie Hoffman
April 27, 1938 – January 11, 2025

Rosemarie Hoffman was many things to many people. A daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  Rosemarie was amazing in all those roles.

Rosemarie loved being Clifford’s wife and the life they built together on the farm. Rosemarie’s happy place was being outside in the vegetable garden or with her flowers. She had so much pride in their beautiful yard on the farm and carried that passion into their yard in Middle Lake.

A harder worker you’d never find, working along side Clifford creating a life they could be proud of. Teaching her children, Deane, Shelley, and Miles, to be good people by showing them how it’s done. Showing them by working hard and being honest they too could have it all!

Shelley used to say: “dad didn’t need a hired man, mom needed a hired wife”. Rosemarie did everything on the farm, from driving tractors to trucks and even shoveling grain. Tending to all the animals; like milking cows, feeding pigs, and cleaning out the chicken coop - which no one else wanted to do. Rosemarie even took care of some of the grandkids’ dogs, cats, and rabbits.  Showing her love to them by letting the pets come into her always spotless house.

Rosemarie preferred working outside, but man could that lady cook! Rosemarie loved trying out new recipes. She loved cooking, baking, and canned everything from fish to vegetables and everything in between. And let’s not forget about her world-famous bread, which was second to none. Regardless of the time-of-day, when Clifford invited someone into their home there was always a four course meal minutes away.

She also took great pride in her appearance. From wearing coveralls to work in the yard or dress for church … she liked to look her best.

Then of course the card playing, she taught us all to play shmear. Rosemarie said there’s always time for one more game! She would be preparing a meal and say, “quick get the cards, we have time for a game while the potatoes are cooking”. How many times have we heard that?

Rosemarie loved all sports! She enjoyed playing baseball and bowling. She loved watching hockey, curling and of course her favorite team the Toronto Blue Jays! Rosemarie was the biggest fan of all the kids regardless of what sport they played. Rosemarie also enjoyed playing horseshoes, she knew when the time was right to let one rip!

Rosemarie loved fishing! The only lady I know who would go fishing when it was -20 and thought this is great. The guys being such good sports, they would let her clean all those fish, mostly because she could do a better job! How about cleaning all those geese to make the feather pillows she kept on every bed in the house.

The last few years Rosemarie might have forgotten a few names and faces but I know in her heart she knew and loved everyone by the people that are here.

Rosemarie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, CLIFFORD Hoffman of Middle Lake; her children: Deane (Tracy) Hoffman and daughter Britt of Saskatoon; Shelley (Terry) Krakowka of Saskatoon and their sons, Cameron (Jacky) Krakowka and daughters Sasha and Veronica of Saskatoon, and Jeremy (Krysten) Krakowka and daughter Ava of Osler; Miles (Lize) Hoffman of Saskatoon and their children Brian (Shelene) Hoffman and children Eric, Leo and Alynn of Cudworth, Christopher Hoffman of Saskatoon and his children Dakota of Saskatoon, Savannah of Muenster and Ryder of Humboldt, and Megan Hoffman (Eddie Schramm) of Martensville; her brother Desmond Bauer (Sandy) of Humboldt and sister-in-law Joyce (Bauer) Braun of Pilger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosemarie was predeceased by her parents George and Anna (nee Lins) Bauer, brother Duane Bauer, nephew Andy Bauer, and great-granddaughter Cheyenne Hoffman.
