Sylvia Beatrice Hering (née Weiman)
November 17, 1944 – January 12, 2025
With sadness the family announce the passing of Sylvia Beatrice Hering (née Weiman), on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She was 80 years of age. Sylvia entered the world on November 17, 1944, in the quaint town of Bruno, SK. She was the cherished daughter of Frank and Angeline (née Sand) Weiman and grew up surrounded by love on a farm alongside her five siblings: Bernice, Florence, Lorraine, Neil, and Beaty. Together, they shared countless memories, walking the half mile to Hoffman School and enjoying the simple joys of farm life. In 1967, Sylvia found a new chapter in her life when she married Doug Kohle and moved to Cudworth. They welcomed three wonderful boys: Dwight, Kevin, and Leslie. Although life took them in different directions, Sylvia's heart opened again when she met Randy Hering, and they joyfully tied the knot on November 28, 2009. Eventually, Sylvia made her home at Bethany Pioneer Village, where she quickly became a beloved member of the community. She loved sharing her sweet treats with the staff, playing Bingo, and joining in on the fun of “Thirsty Thursday” at Birch Manor. Completing her word searches was a favorite pastime, and she always enjoyed getting dressed up for special occasions. Sylvia's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, celebrating life’s little moments, and exchanging gifts on special holidays. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by: her husband, Randy Hering; her sons: Dwight (Tanya) Kohle and their family - Kody (Dillon) Buckle, little Nellie (Sylvia’s first great grandchild), and Luke Kohle; Kevin (Joanne) Kohle; Leslie (Brenda) Kohle and their children - Matthew (Kaylee), Elly, and Casey. Sylvia is also remembered by her dear siblings: Bernice Grueter, Florence (Colin) Arthurs, Lorraine Jungwirth, Neil (Carol) Weiman, and Beaty (Bob) Krentz, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Frank; her mother, Angeline; her brother, Joseph; and several other cherished family members. Sylvia's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno, SK, on Thursday January 16, 2025, at 11:00 am, celebrated by Fr. Pius Schroh. Others taking part were: Elly Kohle, cross bearer; Lianne Borstmayer and Tammy Weiman, scripture readers; Bob and Beaty Krentz, gift bearers; Marie Tegenkamp and Marilyn Dagenais; memorial table attendants; and Leslie Kohle and Matthew Kohle, eulogists. Music ministry was provided by the St. Bruno Parish Choir along with Janis Lemke. Active pallbearers were: Dwight Kohle, Kevin Kohle, Leslie Kohle, Matthew Kohle, Casey Kohle, Luke Kohle; and honorary pallbearers were “All who have shared in Sylvia’s Life”. Interment was at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Cemetery followed by a memorial luncheon at St. Bruno Church Hall. Memorial donations may be directed to Bethany Pioneer Village (PO Box 8, Middle Lake, SK, S0K 2X0, https://bethanypioneervillage.ca/donate.html) or St. Bruno Roman Catholic Parish (PO Box 328, Bruno, SK, S0K 0S0).
