With CFAM Morning Show co-host Chris Sumner out of the mix, Zack Driedger took the role of sitting down with Morden Mayor Nancy Penner this week for In the Mayor's Chair, they covered a couple things including their new youth member on council Aqeelah Daibu attending her first council meeting in December and a new format on how the public can schedule meetings with council in 2025:
“We're going to try something a little different this year and see if making an appointment to meet with Council would be more beneficial for the community. So we're just in the process to set up some times and dates available to make an appointment. We'll just say to everyone, watch for more information to come forward on this. We'll put something out on social media and watch our Morden dot CA website for more information on this. It'll probably be timelines like, the first Tuesday of the month, maybe from 5:00 to 7:00 again, but it will require you to make an appointment and maybe we'll open it up the first Friday of the month from let's say ten to noon to make an appointment to meet with Council. Just makes your time more efficient and our time more efficient. We're just doing some little changes to see if we can make it more efficient on both sides.”
They also covered some key points council is addressing in the 2025 budget including their sewer capacity requirements, the need for more water supply and as always, the economic growth and development in their infrastructure needs.
