Earlier this year the Hamon Fafard family generously donated a piglet sculpture made by the renowned Saskatchewan sculptor Joe Fafard to the Humboldt & District Gallery. The Gallery is thrilled to have a Fafard piece in the permanent collection, and they are commemorating the donation by making sure that this new addition gets the right name.
During the month of October 2024, Gallery staff collected name ideas from the community and narrowed them down to three: Hamlet, Artie, & Piper.
Now the Gallery asks for your help welcoming this amazing piece from one of Saskatchewan’s premier artists into our Gallery’s permanent collection by voting for your favourite name! To vote, please go to humboldtmuseum.ca/namethepiglet or come into the Gallery and drop your favourite name into Bitsy, our adorable pig-shaped draw box. Voting will be open until January 31.
For more information about this piece or the Gallery’s permanent art collection as a whole, please email Jennifer Fitzpatrick at info@humboldtmuseum.ca or call 306.682.5226.
