GURNEY, Charles Henry

March 23, 1931 – January 12, 2025

Charles Henry Gurney, known to most as “Chuck”, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the Regina General Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side. Chuck was born March 23, 1931 in Regina, SK. He was the eldest son of George and Elsie Gurney. Chuck leaves behind his loving wife of 69+ years, Marlene Gurney; son Greg (Karen); predeceased daughter Robin; son-in-law Marlo; granddaughters Krista (Jeremy and Matt), Karmin (Matthew, Owen and Ivy) and Chelsea; grandsons Tanner (Melissa, Emma and Hayden) and Jared (Janelle). Chuck moved to Eyebrow, SK with his parents in 1940. For many years Chuck curled and played baseball. He began curling at school when he was 12 and enjoyed the game. While playing ball, Chuck noticed a talented ball player on the girl’s team; her name was Marlene Molde. Chuck and Marlene were married on June 10, 1955. Chuck served on many councils, boards and committees. Eyebrow RM council, Central Butte hospital board, Moose Jaw Health committee, Eyebrow sports committee and the local school board. Chuck farmed for many years and shared this love of farming with Greg and Robin. Chuck will be deeply missed by his family and those that knew him well. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to leave tributes at www.reginafuneralhome.ca.
