The Town of Diamond Valley will be a bit noisy today (Jan. 21).
As part of some testing being conducted, the Diamond Valley Fire Rescue will be doing sound mapping of all the equipment at Station 3, which is on the Black Diamond side of town.
As part of this testing, the fire department will be turning on the vehicle sirens and blowing air horns.
The testing is scheduled to begin around 11 a.m. and is expected to last between 1 and 2 hours, with the loudest noise occurring for less than 20 minutes.
Occupational Health and Safety staff will be conducting this sound mapping, and it will determine the different decibel levels that firefighters encounter and are exposed to during their workday.
Doing so will help identify the proper hearing protection required to protect the firefighter's hearing.
The fire department thanks everyone for understanding.
