Motor Vehicle Accident

 On January 20th at 11:12 am Police were called to a single vehicle rollover on the 1st street bridge. A Ford Ranger was heading northbound on first street when it lost control, hit the guard rail and the vehicle flipped on its roof. The 89-year-old male driver was transported to Brandon Regional Health Center for non-life-threatening injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

Arrest Warrant

 On January 20th at 2:51 pm Police observed a 23-year-old female walking in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. The female was known to have an outstanding warrant for breach of probation. She was arrested and released for court on February 20th, 2025.

Public Mischief/ Arrest Warrants

 On January 20th at 9:00 pm Police conducted a traffic stop of a taxicab in the 1400 block of 7th street. A male passenger could not produce identification but provided officers with his name. His behavior was suspicious, and police confirmed through police records checks that he provided a false name. The 25-year-old male was also found to have two outstanding warrants for breach of probation and failing to comply with a release order. The accused was arrested and held in Brandon Police Detention Cells. He will appear in court on January 21st, 2025.

Assault with a Weapon/Theft/ Possession of stolen mail etc.

 On January 21st at 04:14 am Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 600 block of Pacific Avenue. A 27-year-old female reported a 21-year-old male from Winnipeg attended to her residence against a court order. The male assaulted the female, striking her numerous times in the head with a first aid kit. He stole her phone, bank card and mail and fled the residence prior to police arrival. Officers located the male a short time later trying to flee the city in a taxicab. A traffic stop was initiated at the corner of 1st street and Victoria Avenue. The male was arrested without incident and found with the victims stolen items. The accused is presently on a release order from a prior assault involving the same victim. He was not to attend the victim’s residence or attend the city of Brandon and abide by a 24-hour curfew in Winnipeg. The accused will be charged for breaching all of these conditions. He was held In Brandon Police Detention cells to appear in court on January 21st, 2025.
