Poor driving conditions in many areas
The strong gusts along with falling snow are making for extremely poor visibility on several highways.
Several callers to the station have reported near-zero visibility on highways in the region including Highway 59 south of Winnipeg, Highway 52, Highway 15, and the South Perimeter Highway.
West-to-east running roadways will particularly be vulnerable in the southerly winds.
Due to reduced visibility in some locations, travel could be hazardous. Non-essential travel is discouraged until the conditions improve.
Wind gusts are expected to ease early this evening.
