Elmer Carl Weyland
November 3, 1934 – January 24, 2025

Elmer Carl Weyland passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at the age of 90 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Born on November 3, 1934, alongside his twin brother, Delmer; Elmer was welcomed into the world at the family home in the Bruno District by his parents, Edward and Ottilia (née Eckl) Weyland. He attended Willing School to grade eight and then farmed with his father and brothers. Besides farming he worked at various jobs; on an oil rig in Drayton Valley, on road construction operating gravel trucks and local custom building while remaining on the farm with his mother, Tillie. When the farm was sold, they moved to Humboldt where Elmer worked for St. Elizabeth Sister’s Convent, managing their dairy. In 1969, Elmer married Ramona (née Roettger) Schriml and they remained on the Schriml farm. They expanded their grain and cattle operation to include the production and sale of industrial milk. During this time, they were blessed with their son, Parker. They later retired to a home in Bruno, but in 1989, a move was made to Humboldt so Parker could work in Futuristic Industries. For many years, Elmer served as a member of the Futuristic Industries Board. He still farmed part-time but now with his family they would take long road trips to Minnesota, B.C., and various sites in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. After Ramona passed, Elmer and Parker remained in Humboldt. Due to deteriorating health, Elmer moved to The Elizabeth and later to Kinsmen Court. He spent the last month of his life at St. Mary’s Villa. Elmer was a generous, hard-working man who had a giant heart full of love, wisdom, caring, and humor that delighted his ever-growing family and everyone he met. We will sorely miss him. Elmer will be deeply missed by: cherished son, Parker; daughter, Cathy (Raymond) Nett, their family: Blandine (Alain) Tremel, their children- Justin (Jodi) Tremel, Chantal (Braden) Derbowka, Larissa (Dylan) Reaser; Barry (Denise) Nett, their children- Chelsea and Colby; Jody (Tasha) Nett, their children- Aiden, Logan and Kaylee; Amanda (Alain) Basset, their children- Taylor (Kyle) Medernach, and Tristan; son, Allan Schriml; son, Robert (Michelle) Schriml, their family: Curtis (Ashley) Schriml, their children- Jordan, Renee, Tempi, and Judson; Kyle (Natalie) Schriml, their children- Oliver and Kailee; and Jared Schriml, his children- Vanessa, Charlotte, Jakob and Rylan; and ten great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ramona; parents, Edward and Tillie Weyland; siblings: Arnold (Delphine), Delmer (Linda), Charles, and Elizabeth (infancy); and nephew, Lloyd Weyland. The Funeral Service was held at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The service was celebrated with warmth and reverence by Fr.
