Sunny’s first visit of the new year was to Ms. Wiggins' Grade 5 class at the Penhold Elementary School.
Before heading to Penhold, we packed the station vehicle with prizes from our sponsors and headed to Boston Pizza Lacombe to pick up some delicious pizzas.
During the visit, the class told Sunny that some students had taken a class learning all about podcasts, and they were eager to ask the Sunny 94 team all about broadcasting.
The class was nominated for Classroom of the Month by Christi Albers-Manicke, who said her son Felix loves his teachers.
“They encourage the students to be themselves, learn, and empower each other every day. I know my son is cared for and valued in his class and school,” Albers-Manicke said in the nomination.
Felix even gifted Sunny a 3D-printed figurine of a cat!

Before leaving, Sunny got high fives and a few hugs from students.
