Ruth Mary (née Martin) Ewen
November 10, 1938 – January 30, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Mary (née Martin) Ewen announces her peaceful passing at her home in Englefeld, Saskatchewan, on Thursday, January 30th, 2025. She was 86 years of age. Ruth was born on November 10th, 1938, to Raymond and Rose (née Menzel) Martin, in Watson, SK. She loved her community, gardening, music and family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by: son Michael (Terri), and their family: Caitlyn (Chris), daughter Anna, and Shania (Jordan); son Jeffrey (Marla) and their family: Christopher and Amanda; son Dale (Lisa), and their family: Chelsea (Bryce) and Spencer (Ashley); and brothers: Donald and Gordon. She was predeceased by: her greatest love, husband Eddy; her parents, Raymond and Rose; and her two siblings: Erwin (infancy) and Allen. The Funeral Mass was offered at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Englefeld, SK, on Saturday, Feb. 15th, 2025, at 2:00 pm, celebrated by Fr. Lawrence DeMong, OSB. Others taking part were: Chelsea Ewen and Amanda Ewen, cross bearers; Marla Ewen, scripture reader; Terri Mappin and Lisa Ewen, intentions; Caitlyn St. Denis and Shania St. Denis, gift bearers; Dollie Bannerholt, Georgia Athmer, Judy Regie, Marie ven der Buhs, memorial table attendants; and Spencer Ewen and Chistopher Ewen, urn bearers. The music ministry was provided by Holy Guardian Angels Parish Choir with organist, Sandra Athmer. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in Ruth’s name may be directed to Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery Fund (PO Box 237, Englefeld, SK, S0K 1N0) or New Horizons Senior Citizens’ Club (co Village of Englefeld, PO Box 44, Englefeld, SK, S0K 1N0).
