The Winnipeg Richardson International Airport is experiencing delays following a plane crash in Toronto. 

The Winnipeg Airport made a post on X late Sunday afternoon encouraging people to check on their flights.

"The airport is experiencing schedule disruptions due to an incident at Toronto Pearson," said YWG airport in the post. "Please double-check the status of your flight, stay home if your flight is cancelled, and contact your airline for status of a delayed or cancelled flight."

Shortly after 2 p.m. ET, a Delta connection flight, operated by Endeavor Air using a CRJ-900 aircraft, travelling from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The flight was carrying 80 people, including four crew members. 

18 people have been transported to hospitals in the area. No fatalities have been reported. 

“The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport,” said Delta CEO Ed Bastian in a statement on X. “I want to express my thanks to the many Delta and Endeavor team members and the first responders on site."

Delta has cancelled its flights to and from YYZ for the remainder of the evening.
