The Museum of the Highwood has a new curator but she's not new to the museum.
Olivia Cotton Cornwall takes over as the fifth curator of the museum with Irene Kerr retiring late last year.
Cornwall has been with the museum for over a decade already.
"I started as a summer student in 2013, three weeks before the floods hit and since then I've been involved in various ways. I've been a volunteer, I've been a full-time staff, I came back as a summer student, so it's been a long time."
One of the exciting new changes is the 'Precious Gifts' recent acquisition display.
"That display is up right now, and they have recent acquisitions we've gotten in the past six to eight months. It's full of lots of little different treasures. We were very lucky to get pieces of the windmill from Pioneer Square after it was blown down."
"One of my other favourite items on display is a sweater which is actually made from dog hair. And we actually have a picture of the dog as well so it's a really cool artifact."
You can see the new display now as the Museum of the Highwood is open seven days a week and entry is by donation.
