The Foothills Falcons Senior Girls' and Boys' teams are flying high these days.
The Sr. Girls took home the championship at the recent Magrath Heartbreaker tournament over the weekend.
They faced the #1 ranked and undefeated LCI Clippers and took them down 90-64. They then dropped Jasper Place 74-53 and followed it with a 76-62 win over crowd favourites, the Raymond Comets.
The Sr. Boys also had an excellent tournament however the heartbreaker tournament lived up to its name in their opening game against Raymond losing 82-79 on a 3-point buzzer-beater in overtime. They were able to fend off the LCI Rams in their second game on the consolation side and ended up hanging on to beat Lindsey Thurber Composite High from Red Deer 74-62.
That ends tournament play before provincials however both teams play one more game this Friday as they face the McNally Timberwolves. The girl's game tips off at 5:30 p.m. with the boys' game to follow.
The Falcons host the South Central Zone Provincials on Thursday, March 6.
