Marcel "Bill" Girard March 11, 1957 - September 27, 2021
Marcel "Bill" Girard passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 in his home. He was 64 years old.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing, the mother of his children, Betty Ann Crow; his children, Nathan Crow, Byron Crow (Cece), Raven Crow (Saige), Janelle Gray (Stuart). He will be greatly missed by his beloved grandchildren; Czarina Haney (Edward), Talia Crow, Jadzia Crow, Keira Crow, Sevan Cordova Crow, Leia Cordova Crow, Ryder Paul, Heatley Paul, Giiziswiiab Rainbow Paul, Kanoa First Rider, Jace Crow, Kayci Tom, Wyatt Grayblanket and Jesse Marcel Grayblanket. He will be missed by many close friends, Warren White, James Oshie, Carey Oshie, Tim Cameron, Sheldon K., Monica Shebagegit, Royden Oshie and many more friends, too many too mention. Bill was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly and will truly miss him.
Survived by his nine siblings: Norman (Celina); Josephine (George); Doug; Sylvester; Roy; Alvin (Tracy); Norma Jean (Matt); Vera (John) and Beverly.
He will greatly missed by the Oshie family who was adopted by the late Jimmy Oshie and Eva Oshie and his siblings; Dora, Maynard (passed), Brenda, Lorna, James, Byron, Darlene, and Carey.
Bill, our dad, loved to be outdoors, out on the land and lakes. Bill was always busy with his wood working projects and made sacred items for people who asked him to. He liked to cook for his grandchildren, whom he loved so much. He also loved to dance old style grass and traveled to many powwows through-out treaty three area. He made many pow wow friends and family along the way.
Bill was predeceased by his parent's, Mary Girard (nee Blackhawk) and Norman Anthony Wawia (Girard); aunt Louise Blackhawk and brother Percy; sister Phyllis and sister-in-law, Tammy Beaulieu; niece's, Samantha and Miranda and best friend Donna Paul.
A wake service for Bill will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Dog Paw Community Centre, Northwest Angle #33 First Nation, Ontario. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Dog Paw Community Centre.
Bill will be laid to rest in Lake of the Woods Cemetery, 750 9th St North, Kenora , Ontario on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
