Crash between school bus and police cruiser leaves officer and child with minor injuries

A Winnipeg police officer and a child are recovering following a collision involving a school bus and police cruiser Friday afternoon. 

The crash happened at around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Provencher Boulevard and St. Jean Baptiste.

The bus was transporting 15 elementary-aged children when the crash occurred. 

One child was treated and cleared at the scene, while one officer sustained minor injuries.

No one required transport to the hospital.

The children were safely transferred to another bus.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
