The Carstar Okotoks Bisons charged into the playoffs over the weekend and scored big-time over the Cannex Cochrane Generals.

The Herd led the charge with a 3-2 win on Friday night at the Murray Arena in the best-of-five round two HJHL playoffs.

They were up 3-0 after 20 minutes and hung on for the win after peppering the Gens netminder with 53 shots on the night.

Seamus Garagan opened the scoring for the Herd with McCallum Bakken and Adam Kirkpatrick adding the other goals.

Connon White backstopped the team for the win after stopping 19 of 21 shots faced.

Game two with another hard-fought 4-3 overtime win on Sunday.

Once again Seamus Garagan scored the game's first goal as the Bisons took a 2-nothing lead into the 2nd period off a goal from Jacob Semeniuk.

Semeniuk would add another, but the Generals battled to a 3-3 tie after regulation time pushing the game to overtime.

Adam Kirkpatrick was the OT hero giving the team a 2-0 lead in the best of five series.

The Herd are now just one win away from moving onto the HJHL South Division final.

Game three is this Friday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. on home ice at the Murray Arena.

If a game four is needed it's back in Cochrane on Saturday night at 8:15 and if a game five is needed it's scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 3:15 at the Murray.
