The Okotoks Oilers of the BCHL swept the weekend with a pair of wins.
They took down the visiting Vernon Vipers 3-1 Friday night at the Viking Rentals Centre.
Kade Duell scored first for the Green and Gold with Ryan Boyce and Jamie Hikida adding goals with Olivier Ciarlo stopping 20 of 21 shots faced in net for the win.
The hometown crowd of just over 1000 from Friday night weren't able to watch Sunday's game as it was up in Spruce Grove at the Grant Fuhr Arena.
The Oilers once again got off to a great start on another opening night goal from Kade Duell, his 13th of the season, and the Oil lead 4-0 after 40 minutes of play.
The Saints made it interesting by adding three goals in the third period, but netminder Ciarlo held them off for the 4-3 win. Burke, Rowland and Goudreau scored the other three goals for the Green and Gold.
The Oilers get set to host the Chilliwack Chiefs next on Friday night at the Viking Rentals Centre with a 7 p.m. puck drop.
