A longtime member and current superintendent with the Livingstone Range School Division is leaving for the Land of Living Skies.

The Livingstone Range School Division Board of Trustees have recently received the resignation of their Superintendent, Darryl Seguin, who has been with the school division for 20 years.

Seguin had joined the School Division in 2005 as the principal of G.R. Davis School, and then became the principal of Willow Creek Composite High School in 2010.

In 2012, Seguin began working in the Division office as an Associate Superintendent, and in 2017 he became the superintendent.

"Darryl's contributions to Livingstone Range School Division are significant and lasting," explained the Board of Trustees Chair, Lori Hodges, in a media release. "He has been instrumental in championing innovative programs such as Leader in Me, FACES summer education program, Livingstone Ski Academy, Indigenous land-based camps, PEAKS Campus, and alternative education programming to meet diverse student needs. These programs, along with meaningful relationships and his caring leadership will be an enduring legacy."

Seguin says that he is grateful for the opportunities and experiences he had with the Livingstone Range School Division and adds that he feels privileged for his 20 years in the educational community.

"It has been an honour to work alongside such dedicated colleagues, staff, and community members, all of whom share a common goal of providing the highest quality education for our students. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated achievements, and continuously strived to create a supportive, enriching environment where both students and educators can thrive," Seguin said in the media release.

"This decision, though bittersweet, comes with a sense of fulfillment as I look back on my career and the privilege I've had to serve in this role," Seguin added. "I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of Livingstone Range in the years ahead."

Seguin will be staying on as the Superintendent until the summertime, and then will be taking up the position as Director/CEO with the Sun West School Division in Saskatchewan.

"We have all been positively impacted by Darryl's leadership, integrity, and genuineness as a person. Although we are sad to see him leave, he will undoubtedly be an incredible asset in Sun West School Division. We wish him all the best in his new role," Hodges says.
