There are new events up and coming for the crafting crew at the Humboldt and District Musuem and Gallery.
First up on the creative current is a Floral Embroidery Workshop with Bernice Keller on Saturday March 8 from 1:30 to 4:30 at the Humboldt Museum. It’s a great gathering for people who have wanted to embroider but didn’t know how to get started.
In this introductory workshop, Bernice will teach the basics of the satin stitch, lazy daisy, woven wheel and French knot.
Learn the basics of floral embroidery in a fun and casual environment – and you can take home everything you need to finish.
Registration is $15/person ($13.50 for Gallery members) and all supplies are included. Spaces are limited so call the Museum to register.
Then for crafters who have projects on the go, the Gallery presents a special UFO night. You won’t be casting your eyes skyward looking for anomalies. This is the Gallery’s first ever (UnFinished Objects) Night.
At a UFO Night, crafters get together to finish up any projects that they have started and haven’t quite finished. This can include knitting, crochet, painting, writing, or any other craft that is easy to pack up and bring to the Gallery. Meet other crafters in the community and motivate each other to get those projects completed.
This event is free and everyone is welcome. Please note that the Gallery will not be providing supplies for the evening, so make sure you have everything you need before you come.
