The Okotoks Oilers struggled over the weekend resulting in two losses.

The visiting Chilliwack Chiefs came to the Viking Rentals Centre for the first time on Friday night and bowled over the Oil 8-3.

Kade Duell scored all three of the Green and Gold's goals for the natural hat trick. Oilers starting netminder Olivier Ciarlo was pulled after letting in six goals over 24 shots. Ben Vatis made his Oilers debut and stopped 25 of 27 shots faced.

The Oilers headed to B.C. on Saturday to face the Cranbrook Bucks and weren't able to pick up the two points as the Bucks won 5-3.

Duell scored a pair, making it seven goals in his last three games, in the losing cause.

The Oilers will look to regroup for a road game in Spruce Grove this Friday and then returning home to host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Saturday.
