Jody Leigh Kufflick (Alcock) February 2, 1966 – November 13, 2021
With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of “Jode” our Mother, sister, friend and auntie at the age of 55 years.
Jody is survived by her daughter Ceana (Bren), Grant Alcock, her brothers Rob (Adele) and Glen, her nephews Stephen, John and Mitch Kufflick, as well as many loving aunts, uncle and cousins.
Jody was a life-long resident of Kenora, obtaining her secretarial degree from Con-College, working in an office position for many years before moving on to work at River Air, a job she loved and being the fantastic cook she was, she moved on to work at the Kenora Jail, then St. Thomas Aquinas in the cafeteria, she loved working with the kids. Jody’s most recent job was at Walmart working alongside her daughter Ceana, she made many lasting friends there.
Jody was always the life of the party. She loved spending time with family and friends, whether it be camping, fishing, hunting, playing cards, or just sitting around chatting, Busch Light in her hand, laughing and enjoying the great company. She loved telling stories of her trips to Mexico and Colombia. Jody always had an ear to lend and a shoulder to cry on, if it was a problem you had, it then became hers, and was never afraid to be real and tell you what she really thought!
Jody was so proud of her greatest accomplishment her daughter Ceana, and made that known to everyone at all times. She was so very thrilled when Ceana graduated High School and again everyone knew it, the smile on her face and tears in her eye’s solidified how proud she was to be Ceana’s mother. Jody will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to family, friends and neighbours who have reached out with messages, food, flowers and time. We would also like to thank the Lake of the Woods District Hospital ER & ICU teams, as well as the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre ICU and surgical teams for all of your efforts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Dear Mom, In life, we loved you dearly, in death, we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.
If roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her that I love her and miss her, And when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, But there’s an ache within my Heart that will never go away.
