No one was injured following a fire Thursday morning in Winnipeg's St. John's neighbourhood.

The fire broke out just before 7:30 a.m. in a three-storey apartment complex in the 200 block of College Avenue.

The street was shut down while crews battled the fire, and Main Street traffic had their lanes reduced as fire trucks lined the busy roadway.

It took just over half an hour to get the fire contained.

No injuries were reported and the occupants of the complex were able to evacuate on their own before crews arrived.

The apartment sustained significant damage from smoke, fire and water.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
