A Winnipeg man has been charged in connection with a serious collision last summer that left two people with severe injuries.
On July 5, 2024, at approximately 10:20 a.m., emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash near Lagimodiere Boulevard and East Mint Place. A male victim was transported to hospital by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, while a female victim was airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance in critical condition. Both sustained life-altering injuries.
After an extensive investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service’s Traffic Division, 29-year-old Harparkash Teje has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm. He was taken into custody on March 10, 2025.
The victims' recovery has been described as a challenging journey, but one filled with resilience and faith.
In the months following the crash, the community rallied around them, offering financial and emotional support. "They know that God is not finished with their story," a family friend previously shared.
Despite the severity of their injuries, the victims have continued to show strength. "It's a long road ahead, but there have already been plenty of absolute miracles," another loved one noted in an earlier update.
The suspect remains in custody as the legal process unfolds.
