Parts of central and northern Manitoba are in for a wintry weekend as a Colorado Low impacts the province.
A snowfall warning has been issued for the area, with 15 to 25 centimetres of snow expected in the area by Sunday.
Snow has already started in The Pas and Flin Flon regions and will begin to spread northeast this afternoon into Churchill by Saturday morning.
Environment Canada says areas such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to the accumulating snow.
Meanwhile, in southeastern Manitoba, there will be a mixed bag of precipitation.
Environment Canada says showers will begin near noon on Friday and continue into the evening before transitioning into freezing rain and then snow.
This will be combined with strong winds gusting from 30 to 50 km/h and then 50 to 70 km/h near midnight.
Blowing snow is expected late into the evening and early into Saturday in southeastern Manitoba.
Motorists are encouraged to prepare for the changing road conditions and plan accordingly.
