Winnipeg police are searching for the driver of a white cargo-style van involved in a hit-and-run early Friday morning that left a 25-year-old woman with serious injuries.
Emergency crews responded to the area of Osborne Street and Mulvey Avenue East at approximately 12:30 a.m. on March 15 after a pedestrian was struck. The woman was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital in stable condition.
According to police, the victim had been crossing Osborne Street at Mulvey Avenue East in front of a stopped westbound van when she was hit by another vehicle heading northbound. The impact knocked her to the ground, causing significant injuries.
Police say the driver did not stop, continuing north on Osborne Street.
A passerby found the woman lying in the road and called for help.
Investigators are now looking for a large white cargo-style van in connection with the collision.
Police are urging the driver to come forward and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact the Traffic Division at 204-986-7085 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
The investigation is ongoing.
