Two men are facing charges after leading police on a chase through West Elmwood.

At around 8 p.m. on Monday, officers were notified that a 2004 Dodge Ram had been stolen from a parking lot in the 1100 block of Main Street.

Just before midnight, officers patrolling West Elmwood, saw the vehicle make an illegal left turn into the back lane between Hespeller Avenue and Hart Avenue. The truck took off at a high rate of speed, losing control and colliding with a hydro pole, parked vehicles, and a fence before finally stopping in front of a home in the 100 block of Hespeller Avenue.

One male suspect was arrested at the scene, and with help from Air1, a second suspect was located and arrested a short distance away.

A 35-year-old male from Winnipeg and a 33-year-old man from Little Saskatchewan First Nation are facing charges.

Both were released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
