Several residents of St. James are waking up in the dark Thursday morning.
A vehicle collided with a hydro pole in the 2600 block of Ness Avenue, which has led to over 800 customers losing power in the Booth neighbourhood.

It has also knocked out several traffic signals in the area, including Ness Avenue and Sturgeon Road. Motorists are encouraged to treat those intersections as all-way stops and use caution.

Manitoba Hydro crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to get power back up and running but they say the damage is significant.
Power is expected to be restored by noon.
