Three Moose Jaw teams took part in the HOOPLA provincial tournament in Saskatoon last weekend.

The Central Collegiate Cyclones boys 4A basketball team is once again provincial champions. The Cyclones defeated Regina Johnson 70-55 on Saturday night at Hoopla in Saskatoon. Chase Seaborn and Gerritt Gulutzan each had 17 points in the championship game as we had them join us in studio.

As for the two girls' teams from Moose Jaw, it was a battle for third place in the girls' 4A division at HOOPLA in Saskatoon. The Moose Jaw Vanier Spirits secured the bronze medal at HOOPLA with a 61-48 victory over the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones.

Vanier’s Waverly Demassi led all scorers with an impressive 23-point performance, while Tristyn Smith added 16 points and Madeline Cruz chipped in with eight. The victory gives Vanier a well-deserved third-place finish, while Central settles for fourth after a hard-fought tournament.

We were joined by Vanier Vikings head coach, Alisha Amy, and players Keira Zimmerman and Ireland Guillaum.

And hopping in the studio were the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones girls' team, including players like Ellah Flanagan and Lily Gulutzan.

All interviews with the players are below.
