Thousands of curling fans are set to arrive in Moose Jaw as the city gears up for the BKT World Men’s Curling Championship, which gets underway this Saturday at the Temple Gardens Centre.
Here are a few things to know ahead of the event.
Where to park:
The are a number of parking options available during the nine-days of curling action, the City of Moose Jaw has metered parking throughout the downtown core, all of which can be utilized for up to four hours at a time.
By using the Hotspot Parking app - which can be downloaded for free from the Apple or Google Play stores - visitors and residents alike to pay for parking remotely via debit or credit card.
Four lots to the east of the Temple Gardens Centre have options for parking as well. Each KidSport Parking Lot will be manned for 1.5 hours ahead of each draw by parent chaperones and the children who will benefit from the fundraising event.
The cost is $10/per entry, vehicles can be left for all three draws, but no spot can be reserved. Vehicles must be removed by the end of each day, or they will be subject to removal by tow truck.
Event schedule and opening draws:
The BKT World Men’s Curling Championship opens with draws across all four sheets at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th.
Canada’s opening draw of the event is against Japan on Sheet B, Korea takes on Czechia on Sheet A, Switzerland faces Norway on Sheet C, and the United States battles Italy on Sheet D.

After-draw activities:
Located within the Moose Jaw Curling Centre itself, the Original 16 patch opens its doors at noon on Saturday, March 29. Throughout the day and the championship, it will be the site of a number of activities including meet and greets with the teams and live music.
Day one at the Patch will feature an Up Close and Personal with Team Norway at 5:30 p.m. and later on, at 10 p.m., live music by Wonderland.
