The Regina Pat Canadians are Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League champions.
In front of a sold out crowd at the Co-operator Arena, the Pat Canadians, completed the sweep of Winmar AAA Moose Jaw Warriors winning 3-1.
Maddox Surkan opened scoring for the Pat Canadians midway through the first period, which was quickly followed up by goal by Reid Bechard.
Gage Nagel got the Warriors on the scoreboard with a power play goal in the second.
Over half way through the third period, Eli Johnson scored the game winner for the Pat Canadians while on the power play.
The Warriors pulled their goaltender late in the third in an effort to keep their season alive and force overtime, but their efforts came up short.
With the win the Pat Canadians earned their spot at the Western Canadian Regional playdowns in Kenora, Ontario next week where they’ll play for a spot in the Telus Cup.
