Rocky View Schools opens summer school registration

Registration for Rocky View Schools' (RVS) high school summer school is now open.

Summer school is available at RVS Community Learning Centre locations in Airdrie, Chestermere or Cochrane.

According to RVS, the Summer School Registration deadline for diploma-level courses is May 30; the deadline for non-diploma courses is June 6 at noon.

Some of the courses available include: 

• English 30-1
• Math 30-1
• Biology 30
• Chemistry 30 
• Social 30-1 

RVS shared that if you want your student to partake in summer school, contact your school guidance counsellor. To see a full list of courses, click HERE.

At the latest trustee meeting,  the trustees approved the 3-Year Capital Plan priority list.

The top seven priorities, according to Rocky View Schools, include:

1. Cochrane - 9-12 school in the community of Horse Creek.
2. Cochrane - K-8 school in the community of Heartland.
3. Airdrie - 7-9 school in the community of Cobblestone Creek.
4. Chestermere - K-9 school in the community of Clearwater Park.
5. Crossfield - K-8 school in the community of Vista Crossing.
6. Airdrie - K-9 school in the community of Wildflower or Vantage Rise.
7. Springbank Middle - An addition to the school.

Earlier in the month, it was announced that Airdrie has received planning funding for a new K-9 (Rocky View Schools) school in the community of Lanark as part of the Alberta government's latest investment in school infrastructure.
