The U15 "A" Western Prairie Thunderbolts won 5-4 over the Moose Jaw Mavericks on Saturday night to take home the SFHL provincial championship for the league.

The Thunderbolts used a big second period in Saturday's winner-take-all Game 3. After the game started off fast with a 2-2 score after one, Thunderbolt goals from Emersyn Brown, Chloe Dean, and Alena Scholer had the Western Prairie team up 5-2 after two. Moose Jaw would get on the board two more times, but the final goal was too late as the Thunderbolts rushed the ice to celebrate with zeros on the clock.

The Thunderbolts playoff run began with a first-round win against Delisle, sending them into another local second round matchup against the Western Prairie Redwings, the Thunderbolts winning that series in a sweep as well. In the finals the Thunderbolts earned another sweep against the Saskatoon Comet Vipers, and then finally met their match in the finals, ultimately beating Moose Jaw in Game 3 after their first loss of the postseason.
