The senior hockey season is officially over after a few provincial banners were handed out over the weekend.
The Kenaston Blizzards won the Senior "A" title over the Round Lake Bears, while the Redvers Rockets took home the Senior "D" championship against the Edam 3 Stars. They join the Senior "C" champion Foam Lake Flyers who defeated the Wilkie Outlaws to deny a double banner season, and then the Senior "B" champion Davidson Cyclones who took down the Moosomin Rangers.
For Kenaston, not only did they win the top level of provincials, but the win gave the Blizzards their fourth straight double banner season as provincial champion and league champion in the SVHL. Wilkie nearly completed the feat but fell to Foam Lake in the finals, a pair of tight 7-6 losses as the Outlaws fell short both times.
That marks the end of the senior hockey season. It won't be long before the ball bags are dusted off and senior baseball becomes all the rage once again around West Central.
