The Village of Beiseker has announced a scheduled water shutoff for all residents, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2. The water will be off for approximately one hour. A boil water advisory will take effect once the water is turned back on. This will not impact Airdrie as the city's water supply is supplied by The City of Calgary.

The boil water advisory will remain in effect until at least Friday, April 4 with efforts underway to lift the advisory by that date. Residents are advised to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and food preparation during this time.
Access to Potable Water
Potable water will be available at the Village Office for residents who need it between the following hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Boil Water Advisory Instructions
During the boil water advisory, residents are instructed to:

Do not use tap water for drinking, cooking, making ice, or preparing baby formula.

Discard any food, drinks, or ice made with tap water.
-
Do not use home water filters to purify water.
-
Do not give pets tap water to drink.
-
Do not use pod-style coffee makers. Drip coffee makers may be used only if they heat water to high temperatures.
Cleaning and Dishwashing
Surfaces that touch food, such as counters, dishes, and cutting boards, must be washed with soap and water, rinsed, and sanitized. To sanitize counters, add five ml (1 tsp) of unscented liquid chlorine bleach (5.25 per cent) to one litre of bottled or boiled water and use the mixture to spray or wipe surfaces.
To sanitize dishes, soak for two minutes in a solution of 10 ml (2 tsp) of unscented liquid chlorine bleach (5.25 per cent) per five litres of tap water, then air dry. Dishwashers may be used on high-heat or sanitize cycles. It is safe to use tap water for laundry and cleaning surfaces that do not touch food, such as walls and floors.
Bathing and Personal Hygiene
Residents are advised to:

Do not use tap water to brush teeth—use bottled or boiled water.

Tap water is safe for showering and bathing, but residents should supervise small children to prevent drinking the water.

Do not use tap water to fill wading pools or play areas.
-
Use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol after washing hands with soap and tap water.
After the Advisory Ends
Once the boil water advisory is lifted, residents are instructed to:

Flush all taps for at least 5 minutes (10 minutes in apartment buildings).

Clean and sanitize cisterns, water filters, and ice dispensers.

Drain and refill hot-water tanks set below 45°C.
-
Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
Notification and Communication
The boil water advisory will be lifted when water quality is restored.
