Airdrie residents will be able to provide feedback on municipal services through the 2025 Resident Satisfaction Survey, launched today and running until April 18.
Formerly known as the Citizen Satisfaction Survey, the annual survey is administered by Y Station, which will contact 400 randomly selected residents by phone to gather responses. Residents can also complete the survey online.
"The information gathered from the Resident Satisfaction Survey gives us valuable insight on the areas we are excelling in and where we need improvements in City services," said Mayor Peter Brown in a news release. "The survey has been instrumental in helping us make informed decisions like the redevelopment of airdrie.ca, the City of Airdrie website, and the launch of involve.airdrie.ca, the City’s engagement platform, creating an informed and engaged community."
The survey asks residents about quality of life, important issues facing the city, and their satisfaction with specific municipal services and facilities.
"If you receive a call or find the survey online, please take the time to share your valuable feedback," said Ryan Johnson, Corporate Strategy Advisor. "The data we receive through this survey will help inform our strategic planning and budget development. We strive for continuous improvement and these results are always a strong indicator of where our residents see strengths and gaps in the level of service the City provides."
The City of Airdrie confirmed that a Resident Satisfaction Survey was not conducted in 2024, meaning the most recent available data comes from the 2023 survey. Y Station administered the 2023 survey, which collected feedback from 400 residents between January 9 and 27.
Results from the 2023 Citizen Satisfaction Survey, also conducted by Y Station, revealed that 73 per cent of residents rated their quality of life in Airdrie as a 4 or 5 out of 5, a slight increase from 72 per cent in 2022.
However, 30 per cent reported that their quality of life had decreased over the past year, down from 36 per cent the previous year.
Following the data collection period this year, Y Station will analyze the responses between April 21 and May 9.
The 400 telephonic responses will be weighted to ensure the data is representative of Airdrie’s population, and the final report will be presented to City Council by the end of May.
